PFC KIOSK INAUGURATION
“Pure for Cure – Satvik Food Kiosk” an initiative of Srila Prabhupada’s Hare Krishna Movement Guwahati inaugurated at Dr. B. Borooah Cancer Institute, Guwahati on
18 June 2026, Thursday, marking a significant milestone towards providing hygienic, nutritious, wholesome satvik meals free of cost to the patients & attendants at hospital premises.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by Shri Vijay Kumar Gupta, Hon’ble MLA, Guwahati Central Constituency, as the Chief Guest. The programme was attended by Shri Kailash Chandra Lohia, Smt. Sunita Devi Lohia & family who are the donors of the kiosk, Dr. B. B. Borthakur, Director of BBCI, along with other distinguished guests, Donors, volunteers, and well-wishers in the august presence of His Grace Sri Janardhana Prabhuji, the President of Hare KrishnaMovement, Guwahati.
The initiative aims to support patients at the institute with wholesome nourishment during their stay. Speaking on the occasion, the dignitaries appreciated the collaborative effort and highlighted the importance of hygienic, nutritional meals and compassionate care in overall well-being.
Special gratitude was expressed to Shri Kailash Chandra Lohia and Smt. Sunita Devi Lohia & the Lohia Group for their generous support in establishing the Satvik Food Kiosk at BBCI camps. Appreciation was also conveyed to BBCI and its Director, Dr. B. B. Borthakur, for their cooperation and encouragement in making this initiative possible. Heartfelt thanks were offered to Shri Vijay Kumar Gupta, MLA, for gracing the occasion and encouraging the noble cause.
His Grace Sri Janardhana Dasa, President of Hare Krishna Movement, Guwahati, thanked all donors, volunteers, supporters, BBCI authorities, and stakeholders for their valuable contribution. He emphasized that the “Pure for Cure” initiative is the the result of Srila Prabhupad’s instruction of *NO ONE SHOULD GO HUNGRY*, reflects the spirit of compassion, service, and care for those in need.
