Hare Krishna Mandir Guwahati Spreading Krishna Consciouness at Bholaganj, Meghalaya

Devotees from Hare Krishna Mandir Guwahati visited Bholaganj, a place bordering Bangladesh in Meghalaya, about 85 kilometres from the capital Shillong.

The place has a considerable presence of Bengali Hindus who have been engaged in various businesses involving bolder stones, lime stone etc. The Hindu Population is from Bangiya Vaishnav sampradaya. There are about 5000 Hindus living in that area. During visit the devotees organised a meeting with locals and performed bhajan, kirtan and Prasadam distribution.

Spreading Krishna Consciouness at Ichamati

Hare Krishna Mandir Guwahati devotees visited to Ichamati, about 80 kms away from Shillong inhabited about 3000 numbers of Hindus comprising Bengali, Hindu, Hajong community, Santhal, Bodo etc. A befitting arrangement of bhajan, kirtan, katha and prasadam were arranged.

Spreading Krishna Consciouness at Kalatek

Hare Krishna Mandir devotees visited to Kalatek, the remotest place bordering Bangladesh which requires a journey by road up to a spot, then walk on dry river bed (in winter session), then crossing the Shella river by small country boat/four wheeler sturdy vehicle only during winter. The extended Kalatek has a population of about 4000, all hindus (mostly SC/ OBC Bengalis). For more than 7 months (summer/rainy season) in a year the area remains completely cut off. The villagers mostly depend on small time agriculture. Bhajan, kirtan, Katha etc are organised with befitting Anna Prasadam with the local people participation.
