The purposes of education in a child’s life are manifold, including learning life skills, developing spiritual awareness and creativity, instilling discipline, cultivating healthy habits, strengthening communication, building confidence, fostering observation, encouraging healthy competition, and promoting personality development.
Vedic scriptures highlight the significance of imparting spiritual education from early childhood to build powerful character and create blissful, prosperous individuals.
As Prahlāda Mahārāja stated, kaumāra ācaret prājño ” One who is sufficiently intelligent should use the human form of body from the very beginning of life — in other words, from the tender age of childhood — to practice the activities of devotional service, giving up all other engagements.” (SB 7.6.1).
This Gokul School is an initiative of Hare Krishna Movement Guwahati to achieve this same purpose.
